Going Beyond Encyclopedias
So Wikipedia is excellent for neutral, global facts.
...but what else can wikis do besides encyclopedias?
To answer that, we'll need to understand:
What makes wikis different?
There are a LOT of different ways for a group to collaborate:
- IM
- direct emails
- mailing lists
- blogs
- POTS & VOIP conference calls
- web forums
- IRC
- etc...
Most of these are designed to assist discussion, to help back and forth
and to archive the actual conversation. that's very helpful.
But it's not the whole answer.
