Why do we meet?
The point of a meeting or discussion is usually to achieve consensus and to exchange information.
The consensus is a summary of the group's collective beliefs after having had the discussion. And none of these tools distill consensus or let a newcomer to the group come up to speed without reading through all of the back-and-forth.
Historically, this role has been played by a "secretary of the meeting", an individual responsible for distilling the point of the meeting. Such people are DocumentMasters.
